Pick your Newcastle United XI to face Southampton in Carabao Cup first-leg tie

Attention for Newcastle United now turns to the Carabao Cup with the semi-final first-leg tie at Southampton. Eddie Howe's side face the Saints at St Mary's on Tuesday night, before hosting the return fixture the following week.

The Magpies were frustrated in their last outing, as Crystal Palace held out for a goalless draw on Saturday evening. Howe's side did climb back into third in the table, but have scored just once in their last four top-flight outings.

Newcastle have so far dispatched Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Tranmere Rovers to reach the semi-final stage. The winner of the tie will face either Manchester United or Nottingham Forest at Wembley on February 26.
