Pick your Newcastle United XI to face Crystal Palace with key players ruled out

Newcastle United have the chance to bounce back from Wednesday's last-gasp defeat at Liverpool when Crystal Palace make the trip to St James' Park on Saturday.

The Magpies looked as though they were about to make it five Premier League games unbeaten, before Fabio Carvalho popped up with a 98th minute winner to give Liverpool a 2-1 win.

Eddie Howe was without key personnel for the trip to Anfield, and they will be again when Patrick Vieira's side visit the North East. Callum Wilson will remain out, while Howe has said late decisions will be made on the fitness of Bruno Guimaraes and Allan Saint-Maximin

However, club record signing Alexander Isak should be available despite suffering with a dead leg. The Sweden international caught the eye on his debut at Anfield, scoring Newcastle's only goal before seeing one disallowed for a tight offside call. Therefore, Howe will be picking his starting XI largely from the same group of players that he was picking from for the game against Liverpool.

Ahead of the game against Palace, Howe said: "They've had a tough fixture list themselves, as we have. They've managed themselves well in those tough encounters. I expect St. James' Park to be rocking again - I certainly want to see a positive reaction from my team."
