Piaggio’s Beverly 310 S Scooter Gets An Upgrade In Europe

Scooters may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about motorcycles. But over in Europe and Asia, scooters vastly outnumber any other type of motorcycle on the road. I mean, it’s easy to see why. They’re efficient, convenient, and most of the time, very affordable, making them perfect for commuters and enthusiasts looking to get the most bike for their buck.

Indeed, the streets of Europe are packed with iconic models, from Honda’s Forza series and Yamaha’s XMAX lineup to the ever-classic Vespa and Piaggio’s own Beverly. These machines serve as the backbone of urban transportation, offering riders a perfect mix of practicality and style.

Piaggio debuted the Beverly in 2001 as a scooter that combined the agility of a big-wheeled model with the comfort of a maxi-scooter. Over the years, it evolved in both design and performance, adapting to changing emissions regulations, technology upgrades, and rider demands. A major milestone came in 2021 when Piaggio introduced its High-Performance Engine (HPE) technology to the Beverly lineup, improving power delivery and efficiency.

Now, in 2025, the latest iteration—the Beverly 310 S—continues that evolution, adapting to stricter Euro 5+ emissions standards.

The Beverly 310 S now packs a new 310cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, developed as an upgrade from its previous 300cc unit. It delivers 27.7 horsepower and 21.8 pound-feet of torque, keeping it lively enough for both city traffic and short highway stints.

Styling-wise, the scooter retains its minimalist, retro-inspired look, save for a refreshed muffler and new color options. Piaggio has also kept key features that riders have come to appreciate, including big 16-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels for added stability and going over cobblestone roads or pothole-laden streets. Showa suspension with a 35mm front fork and twin adjustable rear shocks promise a smooth ride, while full LED lighting provides better visibility.

Other features include a fairly large 5.5-inch digital display with keyless start and USB charging, and dual-channel ABS for reliable braking performance.

Over in Europe, the Beverly 310 S carries an MSRP starting at 5,799 euros, translating to about $6,379 USD. Meanwhile, the sportier S version retails for 5,899 euros, or around $6,489 USD.

Despite the rise of electric mobility options, ICE scooters continue to dominate the European urban landscape. Their combination of low running costs, easy maneuverability, and quick refueling compared to EV charging ensures they remain a go-to solution for daily commuters. While brands like Honda, Yamaha, and Kymco continue to push the envelope with new models, Piaggio has managed to keep the Beverly fresh and relevant with smart updates. But what’s next?

With Piaggio’s growing focus on electric mobility—evident in the Vespa Elettrica and the Piaggio 1 electric scooter—it wouldn’t be surprising if a fully electric Beverly appeared in the near future. An EV Beverly leveraging Piaggio’s electric expertise could bring the brand into the next phase of urban transport, offering an emissions-free alternative without sacrificing the Beverly’s signature comfort and versatility.

For now, though, the Beverly 310 S is a testament to how Piaggio continues to refine and improve one of Europe’s most beloved scooters. So whether you're a longtime scooter rider or a city commuter looking for an upgrade, the latest model proves that the scooter lifestyle isn’t going anywhere.
