Russia's invasion of Ukraine has entered its sixth day and shelling has intensified, as the invasion has probably taken longer to achieve its goals than Russian leaders expected.
Ukraine's second-largest city of Kharkiv was hit by rocket attacks for a second day on Tuesday, with one striking Kharkiv's regional state administration building.
Meanwhile, fighting continues in and around Kyiv, as Russian forces attempt to surround the capital.
Delegations from both sides met in Belarus on Monday in peace talks, although Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier said he did not hold high hopes for talks.
Mr Zelenskyy also signed an application for his country to join the European Union.
Elsewhere, refugees continue to flee the country and Poland estimates 280,000 people have already entered the country from Ukraine.
