Sometimes, there are nights where, as a team, you just do not have it going, and it was one of those nights against the Los Angeles Clippers at TD Garden on Saturday night for the Boston Celtics. The Celtics lost 115-96, and the final score does not reflect the chasm which opened up for Boston, the deep reserves having dug the team a good part of the way out of a 36-point hole.
The Celtics shot just 36% from the field overall, a miserable 25% from beyond the arc, and only got to the free throw line 13 time, making for a moribund night on the offensive end as they tied their season-low for scoring. The defensive side of things was not much better, with a number of painful lapses allowing easy buckets for the Clippers.
