The Boston Celtics came to the Orlando Magic’s home arena hoping to build off their win over the Milwaukee Bucks and sew up their bid to escape group play in the in-season tournament in the process, but ran into a Magic squad that had other plans in mind.
In a game that saw the Celtics get outplayed in terms of physicality and defense, the Magic took down their second 2024 contender in as many games as Boston continues to be allergic to early-tip games. With no Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis exiting early, such an outcome was probably more likely than it might have been, but going 24.1% from 3, and getting out-rebounded by 17 certainly didn’t help.
