The Boston Celtics will debut their 2022-23 regular season roster against the Philadelphia 76ers today in their new “City Edition” uniforms commemorating the legacy of Hall of Fame Boston big man Bill Russell, but that won’t be the only thing they debut Tuesday evening to remember the 11-time champion and civil rights giant.
The Celtics will also play their first regular season game on a court featuring Russell’s globally retired No. 6 incorporated into the design of the parquet itself the team will play on to honor the Boston icon this season. The Celtics recently circulated images of the court ahead of the opening night contest with the Sixers, which we have included in a gallery below.
Let’s take a look at the court honoring Russell.
