When it comes to weddings, cancellations often involve a lot of tears and heartbreak. But one bride-to-be was said to sound "happy" when she spoke to her photographer to admit the nuptials were off, just days before the big occasion - and it's fair to say the photographer was bemused by her attitude and desperate to know more.
Katie Schroeder, a former wedding photographer, recently posted a clip on TikTok describing this pretty awkward memory and it's gone viral as people are obsessed with the 'drama'.
In the post, under the username @katiemeg22, she explained: "I used to be a wedding photographer and I've done around 200 weddings. And I have a lot of stories. Like a lot.
"But there's one story that always seems to take the cake for the best wedding story."
She then explained that a phone call came through to her in the office which was from the bride-to-be who wanted to cancel her services.
Katie said "I was working in the office and I got a call on a Tuesday from our Saturday bride. She said 'are you our photographer?
"Yeah? to which the bride said: Okay well I need to cancel."
The photographer explained they needed the request in writing so asked the bride to send over an email which the bride agreed to do.
"Now typically when they cancel the week of they're either really angry or really sad. She wasn't. She was happy. It was weird," recalled the photographer of the conversation.
But that was not the end of it as later in the week the photographer received an email which detailed what had happened and the story leaves a lot more questions than answers.
She explained: "So on Wednesday, we get an email from the groom's aunt who apparently bought it for them as a wedding package, saying that there will never be a wedding between those two because the bride got married to someone else on Monday.
"She got married to someone else the same week she was about to marry someone else."
More than 250,000 people have liked Katie's video, with hundreds commenting to share their shock.
One person replied: "You mean to tell me she was having two weddings while I can't even get a date."
Another wrote: "I thought u [sic] were going to say someone else cancelled pretending to be bride to ruin wedding."
A third posted: "More more more more!!"
While a different user added: "We act like this is crazy but it could be the plot of a rom com and we’d be cheering this lady on."
