Susan Phonsongkham has continued her stunning form by scoring a late winner in Perth Glory's 2-1 A-League Women triumph over Adelaide at Macedonia Park.

Perth's bid for a fourth straight win to start the season was on thin ice after Adelaide midfielder Dylan Holmes opened the scoring in the 43rd minute of Saturday night's match in Perth.

Glory striker Grace Jale equalised in the 51st minute, and Phonsongkham produced a brilliant individual effort to score the winner in the 86th minute.

Phonsongkham, a former Australia youth international, breezed past an opponent to enter the box from the left and then evaded another before squeezing her shot through a host of bodies.

It was the 22-year-old's third goal in four matches, with her early-season heroics playing a crucial role in Glory's perfect start to the campaign.

The latest win ensured Glory will stay on top of the ladder for at least another week.

In contrast, Adelaide sit 11th out of 12 teams with just one point to their name.

Glory produced a flurry of chances in the first half, but Adelaide keeper Annalee Grove was up to the task each time.

Grove did well in the fifth minute to shut down Jale as the Glory striker charged towards goal.

The Adelaide custodian got down low to keep out Hana Lowry's long-range effort in the 37th minute, and she tipped over Lowry's floating strike in first-half stoppage time.

The only time Grove was beaten in the first half was when Glory striker Millie Farrow scored a goal from an offside position.

Adelaide had more possession but they struggled to create good scoring chances.

It was a matter of quality over quantity though, with Holmes scoring when she volleyed home Ella Tonkin's flashing ball across goal.

It marked the first time Glory had trailed in a match this season.

Glory got the equaliser through Jale when the NZ international squeezed the ball past Grove after Adelaide's defence failed to deal with Phonsongkham's cross.

And Phonsongkham sent the home crowd wild when she took on Adelaide's defence and sealed the win in the dying minutes of regulation time.
