A car crashed into a garage and a communications box, cutting off a local business' phone lines.
Officers were called to Halton Road in Runcorn on Saturday (May 7). A car had crashed into a Virgin communication box and a garage in the early hours of the morning, causing extensive damage. The driver then fled the scene.
Pictures from the scene show the communications box was knocked and flattened, with cables strewn across the pavement. The garage also suffered extensive damage too - broken panels lay on the floor while police tape sealed it off.

Dr Jon Westall from Halton Road Dental Practice, which neighbours the garage that was hit, told CheshireLive that the crash meant the phone line was cut off, which could have a "serious impact" on patients when it reopens.
He said: "The garage used to belong to us but was sold to the neighbours at Halton Road several years ago, whom we have had a close relationship with for over 25 years. Sadly the owner George passed away a few months ago and so this is further bad news for his family.
"Several patients and staff members have expressed concern about the damage and hope that no-one was seriously injured in the crash. The phone lines to the cul-de-sac have been cut off, which we are concerned may have a serious impact on the business when it re-opens after the weekend."
Cheshire Police confirmed that nobody was injured in the crash but it is appealing for information.
A spokesperson for the force said: "At 7.39am on Saturday 7 May officers were called to reports of a fail to stop collision on Halton Road, Runcorn. The caller reported that a car had collided with a Virgin communication box and a garage sometime in the early hours of Saturday 7 May.
"Following the collision, the vehicle had fled the scene and there were no reports of any injuries. Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and anyone with any information can visit the website, or call 101, quoting IML 1262790."
