Phoebe Bridgers fans, rejoice.
The internet has been alight with the news that the singer, 28, will be appearing on viral YouTube show Chicken Shop Date on Christmas Eve.
Host and creator, Amelia Dimoldenberg, announced the news on Wednesday. She shared a photo of herself and the star on Twitter, writing: “The only dating rumour worth thinking about @phoebe_bridgers and me out Friday”.
The caption was seemingly a reference to online rumours that Bridgers and actor Paul Mescal have broken up only a month after their reported engagement.
Fans of Chicken Shop Date and Bridgers have been celebrating the collaboration online, with journalist Erica Campbell tweeting: “This is my World Cup.”
Another excited user said: “This is the true meaning of the season.”
Chicken Shop Date is an interview-style YouTube series hosted by internet personality Dimoldenberg.
It premiered in 2014, with the first guest being grime artist Ghetts.
The format consists of Dimoldenberg asking her guests random questions as they eat in a fried chicken shop for a “date”.
Dimoldenberg’s signature awkward humour has attracted the attention of well-known footballers, YouTubers, musicians, presenters, actors and cultural icons who have appeared on the show.
Some most famous guests have been Louis Theroux, Daniel Kaluuya, Jack Harlow, AJ Tracey and Keke Palmer.
Over the past eight years, Dimoldenberg’s YouTube channel has racked up a whopping 1.59 million subscribers. Her show has become renowned for its sarcastic and satirical style.
In a recent interview with GQ magazine, Dimoldenberg confirmed that she was in talks with US rapper Drake about appearing on it.
