Phillip Schofield takes swipe at Dominic Cummings and his 'thousand knives'

This Morning host Phillip Schofield took a brutal swipe at Dominic Cummings during Monday's episode of This Morning.

Phil and his co-host Holly Willoughby had invited Gyles Brandreth and Camilla Tominey onto the ITV show to discuss the latest headlines when the conversation turned to the former aide.

The group were discussing reports that Prime Minister Boris Johns is said to have made light of Chris Pincher’s reputation before making him Deputy Chief Whip.

The former Tory Deputy Chief Whip is alleged to have made unwanted passes at two Conservative MPs in 2017 and 2018 - after his first resignation as a whip, according to The Sunday Times.

Speaking about the story, father-of-two Phil said: " Boris Johnson facing demands to set out what he knew about allegations of inappropriate behaviour centring on Chris Pincher before appointing him to the Tory whips office."

He continued: "His ex advisor Dominic Cummings, who seems to have... he's got a thousand knives in his back pocket, claims the Prime Minister referred to the MP as 'Pincher by name, Pincher by nature' before making him Deputy Chief Whip in February.

"We're saying 'allegedly' on that," Phil then added, as Camilla said: "Yeah we're saying allegedly on all of it because I think Mr Pincher does dispute some of the allegations against him.

"And I think it should also be noted that this... it's certainly not an excuse... but it's an explanation in the sense that he's now seeking professional help because he said he drank too much in the Carlton Club," Camilla added.

"It's 2022 and this is inexcusable behaviour," Phillip later said, as Gyles agreed with him.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
