A woman who called into ITV's This Morning to get advice with her relationship from dating expert Deidre Sanders has been at the receiving end of the daytime show's kindness. After explaining to the presenters Phillip Scholfield and Rochelle Humes that her partner of eight years had stopped being affectionate, she was told that the show would pay for her and a friend to go on a spa retreat.
Phoning in, Denise explained to Deidre: "I'd just like a little bit of advice, please? I've been with my partner for eight years and it's now to the point where he just doesn't pay me any compliments, he doesn't ask how my day has been, doesn't do anything at all. And, as an example, today is my birthday. He didn't even say happy birthday. I took him breakfast in bed as I do every day and he just pointed at a card and said 'Are you taking that with you or not?'"
This forced Deidre to put her head in her heads as Denise continued: "There's no affection, there's no nothing. He blames me if I want to talk about it or turn it to me and blame me for whatever has happened or for the way I'm feeling. And uses my depression against me a lot of the time."

Querying whether she wants to end the relationship or improve the relationship, Denise told Deidre that her issue is that she owns the house in which he lives and he has nowhere else to go. "I do feel sorry for him and would worry about him. At the moment I'm getting nothing from this whatsoever. Emotionally or financial," she said. After Deirdre gave her expert advice on the situation - which included demanding they talk about it and find a fixed time where they can both do so with specific topics to discuss what needs to change - Phil and Rochelle interjected by firstly wishing the caller a happy birthday before they added: "Do you have a best friend? Would you go away with a friend without him? Would you have a spa weekend without him?"
"Yes," Denise answered. "Right, we'll pay for it," Phillip replied strongly. "It's on us," Rochelle added. "We'll pay for you and your friend, without him - he can get his own breakfast that morning - so we'll pay for you and your friend to go on a lovely spa weekend somewhere in the UK and you can get away," Phil continued. "Talk to your friend about what it is you need to do back home."
"You need some time for you," Rochelle chimed, "There's no... all of this gaslighting is bad energy. You need to enjoy yourself and focus on you for a bit." "You're not getting anything out of this," said the 61-year-old presenter. "Stay on the line and we'll sort it out. You deserve it."
After watching the show and learning of this heartbreaking situation, viewers quickly took to Twitter to support Denise, with many offering her some advice.
User @SallyPrice4 wrote: "Oh 'Denise' my heart bleeds for you, sweet. He has got to go! Happy Birthday to you, Xx #ThisMorning". while @Boppity_Boo34 added: "Her husbands a t**t #ThisMorning".
A third, @fuzzybeepants, also penned: "Denise love, you ain't his servant, get rid."
This Morning airs on ITV1 on weekdays at 10am.
