Phillip Schofield sends message to ITV This Morning replacement Alison Hammond as he's forced off show

Phillip Schofield has shared the 'weird' side of being on This Morning as a guest as he's been forced off the show.

The ITV daytime show had to undergo a last-minute presenter shake-up after Phil tested positive for coronavirus.

The 59-year-old took to Instagram on Monday night with a picture of his Lateral Flow Test, hours after appearing on This Morning alongside Rochelle Humes.

Phillip was replaced on Tuesday's show by Alison Hammond and won't be back for the rest of this week as current rules state you need a negative test on day five and six to be able to leave isolation early.

The TV star did, however, get to join Rochelle and Alison on today's show via video link, appearing while showing his positive tests to the camera.

Former The Saturdays singer Rochelle asked him: "How are you doing? Just a sore throat or feeling any worse?"

Phillip, who was chilling in a grey hoodie, replied: “I’m fine. I haven't even got a sore throat now... I sneezed twice and that's it."

He then added: "I've got a slight temperature, but that's about it."

But the presenter did admit to being 'worried' about what his test results may mean for Dancing On Ice, which he hosts alongside Holly Willoughby.

"Thankfully, we’re pretty careful in there, but there’s a number of things I'm disappointed about," Phil admitted.

"Obviously I'm disappointed that I’m not there, we’re a little bit worried about Dancing on Ice as I’m cutting it a bit fine for Dancing On Ice on Sunday."

Rochelle and Alison then laughed as they said that they'll "try and keep the show going2 so he's got "something to come back to next week."

Before appearing on the ITV show, Phil took to Instagram to show what it's really like for guests who cannot appear in the studio.

"Not quite the way I planned to be on @ThisMornign today," he wrote across the snap which showed him taking a photo of his computer screen which was split to show himself at home and Rochelle and Alison in the studio.

Rochelle then reshared his post, writing: "We love you."

His next photo showed Alison checking her phone moments before the show went live with Phil warning: "Get off your phone @alisonhammond55 you're about to go live."

The third and final photo showed Phillip's computer screen just before This Morning began.

The green screen featured a countdown which warned there was 20 seconds until the titles began to roll.

"This is bloody weird," Phil admitted.
