Phillip Schofield 'scolds' This Morning's Alison from home after positive Covid test

Phillip Schofield couldn't resist a light-hearted telling off of his This Morning replacement Alison Hammond after he was forced to watch the show from home today.

The ITV star, 59, announced on Monday night that he had been ruled out of hosting the daytime show as he shared a photo of his positive Covid test.

The following morning, viewers saw Rochelle Humes at the helm, with The Saturdays singer already standing in for Holly Willoughby who is filming a new TV show.

Rochelle was joined by regular Friday presenter Alison Hammond, who agreed to step into Phil's shoes at the last minute.

Minutes before the duo went to air, Phil took to Instagram to let viewers fans know he was tuned in at home - and to also give some advice to co-star Alison.

Sharing a behind the scenes photo of Alison and Rochelle before they went live, Phil cried: "Get off your phone Alison!"

"You're about to go live!" he told her and tagged her in the post.

Phil shared another shot of him preparing to speak to the temporary hosts via Zoom from his home.

"Not quite the way i'd planned to be on This Morning today," he admitted.

He also told followers 'this is so bloody weird," as he shared a shot of the countdown clock seconds before the show went to air.

During his chat with Alison and Rochelle, Phil admitted he felt 'disappointed' not to be at ITV towers himself.

He also admitted he was still uncertain whether he'd be fit to present Dancing On Ice on Sunday, after testing positive for Covid on Monday.

Dressed in a hoodie that read 'isolation nation', Phil said he was doing 'mostly fine' and had only sneezed twice in the last 24 hours - although he did reveal he'd developed a fever.

Over the weekend, Phil revealed that he'd headed to the theatre and out to a restaurant with wife Stephanie Lowe and their daughters Molly and Ruby.

He also presented Dancing On Ice on Sunday night and This Morning on Monday.

His usual co-star Holly has been absent from This Morning for over a week as she films scenes for new TV show Superstar Survival with Lee Mack in Southern Europe.
