It is fair to expect that anything and everything can happen on This Morning and the start to the latest show proved just that. The ITV daytime favourite was back on screens on with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield at the helm.
Prior to the show starting, Holly and Phillip made their usual mini appearance on ITV's Lorraine where they teased host Lorraine Kelly and viewers with what was coming up on today's programme. But before they wrapped up their brief appearance, they told the Scottish TV star that they had a naked couple on a tandem for her.
A few minutes later, as they appeared live in the This Morning studio, Holly appeared to be stifling a giggle as she welcomed viewers to the programme. Meanwhile, Phillip held his head in his hand. "We've got lots coming up for you this morning and we did have something quite eye-opening..." Holly said before Phillip interjected.

The 60-year-old then explained: "We're going to show it later. The idea was it was going to be the opening of the show. We've just pre-recorded it because with something like this you've got to be quite careful you don't offend anybody." Wondering what he was talking about, he went on: "We've got two naked cyclists on a tandem who have cycled 1,000 miles from Lands End to John o' Groats."
Phillip, who shared how they have raised more than £5,000 for charity, then went on to reveal: "We pre-recorded it and we've just watched it back and you can see his bits." Holly started to laugh as she told how they tried to blur it and find other ways of avoiding any nudity on the show but to no avail.
"What we're going to have to do is send it to edit and see if they can do something with that," Phillip added as Holly suggested; "Put a big aubergine emoji over it which is what I've done on my socials. Phil's got a little video there. They're all clean on there, we've checked them."
The 41-year-old then said with a smile: "It's been quite the morning." Phillip then said they had "cut it up to the wire" and that the decision to hold off an airing the original opening was made during the show's opening titles. "But we have to show you it because it's very good," Holly interjected with a smile.
"They're so lovely," Phillip added. "And it's for two good causes," he said before letting out a sigh. "God, I love this show," he then admitted as Holly burst out laughing. "So much!" he added before moving on to share what else was to come on the show today.
But as mentioned, Holly and Phillip didn't mind giving a closer look on their Instagram pages. Holly posted a selfie of herself with Colin Unsworth and Sadie Tann in the background on their tandem in the nude. She covered up their modesty with with a waving aubergine give and a spinning sunflower.
"Morning," a gif read over the top while Phillip shared a video of him coming across the cyclists' bare bottoms as he walked through the studio over to the sofa where Holly was waiting. "Welcome to our world," he penned before he could be heard saying 'morning' to members of the crew as he got closer to the cyclists in their birthday suits.
