This Morning’s Phillip Schofield has hinted he could one day enter the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! camp as he discussed the latest series of the ITV reality show.
The TV presenter sat down with co-host Holly Willoughby and former campmates Matthew Wright and Lisa Snowdon in the ITV studio and reflected on Matt Hancock ’s explosive arrival on Wednesday night.
Matthew said he had found it a ‘privilege’ to enter the jungle in 2013, adding: “It was a great learning experience. I would say I came out of it a better person.
“[TV presenter Christopher] Biggins told me it would be a game-changer for me and it was. I kind of wish that privilege was bestowed on someone slightly more deserving than Matt Hancock.”
He then turned to host Phillip and said: “What about you? I’m looking at you! You would be perfect. Huge star.”
Laughing Holly insisted it would prove too easy for the presenter, saying: “You would be able to do everything though. He could eat everything, he could do everything. He wouldn't be bothered.”
A smiling Phil then admitted I’m A Celebrity is the only show he would agree to do, adding: “But the answer is currently no. I was asked. I’m asked all the time. No, not yet. Never say never to anything.”
Giggling next to him, Holly insisted she would ‘never’ do the show and when Phil then suggested doing Strictly Come Dancing instead, she still firmly said no.
This comes after Matt Hancock is seen gasping for breath as he takes part in the latest I'm A Celebrity trial - but hosts Ant and Dec don't look too fussed as they make cheeky digs.
The former Health Secretary infuriated campmates last night as he made his shock entrance alongside Seann Walsh as a late arrival.
Hancock was chosen by the public to tackle Tentacles of Terror and tonight viewers will watch as he is trapped in a cage that is slowly sinking as he's tasked with collecting stars.
In a teaser clip from this evening's show, Hancock submerges himself under water to dip his hand into various compartments, one of which includes a cage of tiny crocodiles, to grab stars.
"Oh, you've gotta hold your breath for a long time," Dec observes.
"Yeah you do," Ant quips. As Dec keeps his breath in, Ant says: "Oh, you don't have to hold your breath - just him."
As Hancock breaks the surface, he holds up a star and gasps in breaths of air as he clings onto the cage for dear life. The cage then lowers again as Dec says: "Good going this - down we go again. Your air hole gets smaller."
"What did you call him?" Ant asks. "Air hole," Dec replies as Ant laughs and the pair grin at the camera.
