The young man who Phillip Schofield had an "unwise, but not illegal" relationship with worked in a pub after leaving This Morning.
Over the weekend, Phillip, 61, admitted to having an affair with a younger male This Morning employee, while he was still married.
The TV presenter - who quit his 21-year run on the ITV1 programme earlier this month - said the relationship happened while he was still married to Stephanie Lowe - with whom he shares two daughters.
Phillip apologised for lying to his friends, family, and lawyers about the fling and said the former colleague was "never moved on or sacked by or because of me".
And now, it has been revealed that the younger male employee went on to work in a country pub after leaving ITV.
According to reports, he quit several weeks before the scandal hit headlines.
Phillip has been scrutinised for weeks, with it initially emerging that there were behind-the-scenes rifts between him and co-star Holly Willoughby.
After denying a feud in a statement, which was said to have "blindsided" Holly and ITV, he stepped down from his role on the programme.
It later emerged that Phillip had a secret relationship with an ITV production assistant that he kept hidden from his wife Steph, Holly and ITV bosses for years.
He admitted in a statement he had a “consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague” who he had met when he was a teenager and wanted to get into television.
“It was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship,” Philip added.
"That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over."
Reports first surfaced around the nature of Phillip’s relationship with the young production assistant in 2020, and it was recently revealed they had begun dating shortly after he started working on the ITV daytime show.
The father-of-two managed to keep their relationship hidden, with both Holly and ITV revealing they were none the wiser.
“When reports of this relationship first surfaced, I asked Phil directly if this was true and was told it was not. It’s been very hurtful to now find out that this was a lie,” she said in a brief post on social media.
ITV released a statement revealing they had investigated Philip over the allegations in 2020, but he had denied the affair.
“Phillip’s statement yesterday reveals that he lied to people at ITV, from senior management to fellow presenters, to YMU, to the media and to others over this relationship,” they explained.
