Phillip Schofield's devastation as he still has Covid days before Dancing On Ice

Phillip Schofield has shared his misery as he's still testing positive for Covid just two days before Dancing On Ice.

The show's co-host is still testing positive for Covid and it's looking very unlikely he will be back on his feet before this weekend.

Schofe will have had to test negative tomorrow and Sunday to be able to take part in Sunday night's show.

Phillip has been absent from his TV duties this week after testing positive for coronavirus.

And as a result of his isolation period the silver-fox, 59, is unable to host Sunday's edition of Dancing on Ice alongside Holly Willoughby.

Earlier today Mirror exclusively revealed that Phillp's replacement will be ITV favourite Stephen Mulhern.

An insider told us: "While Phil is off recovering, Stephen was delighted to be asked to step in to fill his shoes and present alongside Holly.

"He gets on with everyone so bosses are more than happy for him to step up. Everyone's wishing Phil a quick recovery and hoping to see him back in his rightful place later this month."

The 44-year-old will have no trouble taking up the post as he works on several big ITV shows including Rolling In It, Catchphrase and In For A Penny and is used to being surrounded by live audiences whilst on screen.

Mirror has contacted a representative for Dancing on Ice for comment.

On Monday, Phillip announced he tested positive for Covid and has been forced to self-isolate..

He posted the results of his lateral flow test on Instagram, writing: "Well b******s.

The TV star added: "Currently just a slightly sore throat ".

Current Covid rules in England allow those testing positive for Covid to leave isolation after five days – provided lateral flow tests give negative results on days five and six.

This week, Phil's This Morning duties were covered by Alison Hammond and Vernon Kay.

Recent reports have claimed that Dame Arlene Phillips, 78, is set to join the Dancing On Ice family.

The West End legend is rumoured to be joining the ITV show later this month as a guest judge.

It's now been reported that the dancer will join the ITV series for a one-off appearance - the first time Dancing On Ice has ever had five judges sitting on the panel.

A TV insider has told The Sun that ITV bosses have been keen to sign the choreographer up and "have been talking to her for months about her guest slot on the show".

"She has decades of dance experience under her belt which producers wanted to draw on and enhance the panel even further," they told the publication.

"Plus, audiences will be thrilled to see her back judging on primetime TV, just as she once was on Strictly."

Arlene is said to be joining existing judges Ashley Banjo, 33, Jayne Torvill, 64, Christopher Dean, 63, and Oti Mabuse, 31, on February 20.

*Dancing On Ice continues on Sunday night on ITV at 6:30pm.
