Phillip Schofield's career in tatters – every show he's been dumped from after affair admission

This Morning's Phillip Schofield has been hitting headline after headline after he departed the ITV programme last week.

It comes after weeks of intense scrutiny over his off-screen relationship with co-star Holly Willoughby – who he presented with since 2009.

It all reached a climax when he announced his immediate departure from This Morning after 21 years last Saturday.

And now, he admitted to lying to his wife, management, legal team and ITV about a relationship he had with a much younger male ITV employee.

He has also been dropped by his talent agency YMU after the affair, which Phillip insisted was not illegal.

ITV have since accepted his resignation with immediate effect, and added how they were "deeply disappointed" by the host's "deceit".

An ITV spokesperson told the Mirror: "We are deeply disappointed by the admissions of deceit made tonight by Phillip Schofield.

"The relationships we have with those we work with are based on trust. Philip made assurances to us which he now acknowledges were untrue and we feel badly let down.

"We accept his resignation from ITV and therefore can confirm that he will not be appearing on ITV as had previously been stated."

As news of Phillip's affair emerged, Phillip quit ITV with immediate effect with multiple TV shows and events now looking for a new presenter.

Here are all the TV shows he has been dumped from...

Dancing On Ice

Following the news of the affair, it was announced that he quit all of his roles with ITV, including Dancing On Ice.

Dancing On Ice had been presented by Phillip alongside Holly from 2006 to 2011, who then returned in 2018. Christine Lampard hosted alongside Phil from 2012 to 2014.

Before his departure was confirmed, an ITV spokesperson addressed the speculation on Phillip's future on Dancing on Ice.

"Dancing On Ice isn’t due on ITV until January 2024 and the series is not currently in production," they told Metro.co.uk.

"Further announcements" about the show, including the presenter line-up will be announced in "due course".

British Soap Awards

On Friday, Phillip said he is stepping down from all ITV work, including DOI and the British Soap Awards.

"I am so very, very sorry, as I am for having been unfaithful to my wife," he said.

"I have therefore decided to step down from the British Soap Awards, my last public commitment, and am resigning from ITV with immediate effect expressing my immense gratitude to them for all the amazing opportunities that they have given me."

Following Phillip's announcement, ITV told the Mirror: " The British Soap Awards will take place next Saturday as planned, and we will make further announcements regarding the ceremony in due course."

The Cube and 5 Gold Rings

The Cube is a gameshow that sees contestants compete for the chance to win £250,000 (ITV)

As The Cube and 5 Gold Rings are both part of ITV, he will no longer be fronting the game shows.

The Cube is a gameshow that sees contestants compete for the chance to win £250,000 by completing challenges from within a 4m × 4m × 4m perspex cube.

It was first aired back in 2009, before returning as The Million Pound Cube in 2020.

ITV stopped producing The Cube for 2022 and told TV Zone in April last year:"There are no immediate plans for The Cube to return this year, however, its doors are not closed."

Meanwhile, 5 Gold Rings had its plug pulled in 2021 after the Covid-19 pandemic made production "difficult", according to reports.

"Execs have decided not to commission another series of 5 Gold Rings," an insider told the Daily Star in 2021.

"It won’t be back on TV this autumn like it normally would and there are currently no plans to bring it back in the future."

However, the shows still had the possibility of a return.

Before the announcement, insiders told the Mirror that it was a "unanimous decision" to part ways with Phillip.

"He was upset, but firm that if he was going to walk away he wanted to keep his roles on The Cube, the British Soap Awards, and Dancing on Ice – crucially, with or without Holly," a source said.

"And they agreed to the terms he laid out. As far as he was concerned, if he was going to take one for the team, they would owe him."

All-Star Mr & Mrs was another show hosted by the presenter but aired between 2008 and 2016. It was also an ITV show.

This Morning

This Morning, which was fronted by Phil for two decades, will no longer be presented by him, following his decision to quit his role presenting the show last weekend.

Two days after his last appearance on Thursday, May 18, Phillip said: "I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story.

"Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind.

"I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.

"So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future.

"I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me – especially This Morning's amazing viewers – and I'll see you all for the Soap Awards next month."
