Phillip Schofield plants kiss on Holly Willoughby as she gushes over her 'favourite' after Dancing On Ice final

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby showed they were happy to be reunited at the ice rink for the Dancing On Ice 2022 final.

The hosting duo, who also appear on This Morning together, were reunited after Phil, 59, was forced to host the semi-final solo after Holly, 41, tested positive for coronavirus hours before the penultimate show.

But, after a week's break, it was finally time for the three finalists - Regan Gascoinge, Kimberly Wyatt, and Brendan Cole - to take to the ice to try and impress for the final time and walk away with the Dancing On Ice trophy.

Each celebrity and their professional skating partners took to the ice for a special routine choreographed especially for them by judges and skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, before performing their favourite routine from the series.

And the couples all scored 40's across the board from the ice panel - which also includes Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse - and it was ultimately down to the public vote to decide who would perform their own version of Torvill and Dean's iconic Bolero, their 1984 Winter Olympics skating performance, with only two couples able to perform their practiced versions.

Pussycat Doll Kimberly ended up placing third in the competition and missed out on her opportunity to perform her third and final number, leaving Regan and Brendam to battle it out for the last time in a bid to be crowned the ultimate winner.

And in the end the title went to Regan and his professional partner Karina Manta. The singer and dancer, 26, struggled to hold back his tears as he lifted the trophy, adding: "I am so overwhelmed, I never thought it was possible."

Meanwhile, after being named runner-up, Brendan, who was partnered with serial finalist Vanessa Bauer, said it was a "really special moment" in his life.

As the cameras cut and the class of Dancing On Ice 2022 were left celebrating on the ice, Phillip took to Instagram with a selfie of himself planting a kiss on his co-host and best pal Holly's cheek. "Thank you for an amazing series you gorgeous human," he wrote over the sweet snap.
