Phillip Schofield pictured alongside daughter for first time since affair bombshell

Phillip Schofield has been photographed for the first time since his affair with a 'younger' colleague at ITV was revealed. The former This Morning star was seen travelling in a black car alongside his daughter.

Phil, 61, appears to be sat in the back behind the front passenger seat, with 27-year-old Ruby sat next to him, the Mirror reports. The new photos, which are not particularly clear, show the pair being driven by a man wearing glasses, a shirt and a black jacket.

Ruby previously interned for ITV for a month after graduating with a 2:1 in Psychology at Leeds Beckett University. The TV star's other daughter Molly, 30, who was not seen in the car, is reportedly still working for her dad's former talent agency YMU.

Phil seemingly broke his cover after admitting to having an "unwise" but "not illegal" affair with a younger ITV employee in a statement last week. He resigned from ITV and was dropped by YMU after he admitted lying about the relationship.

In the statement, he said: "I did have a consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague at This Morning. Contrary to speculation, whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship. That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over."

ITV later shared a statement to share their "disappointment" over Phil's "deceit". Today, the broadcaster announced that Jane McDonald will be replacing him as the host of the British Soap Awards, which take place this weekend.

ITV said they undertook an internal investigation into the affair when the allegations first came to light but said they were "lied" to.

The broadcaster said: "ITV can confirm that when rumours of a relationship between Phillip Schofield and an employee of ITV first began to circulate in early 2020 ITV investigated. Both parties were questioned and both categorically and repeatedly denied the rumours as did Phillip's then agency YMU.

"In addition, ITV spoke to a number of people who worked on This Morning and were not provided with, and did not find, any evidence of a relationship beyond hearsay and rumour. Phillip’s statement yesterday reveals that he lied to people at ITV, from senior management to fellow presenters, to YMU, to the media and to others over this relationship."

The broadcaster has since called upon a barrister to conduct an external investigation into Phillip's statement and departure.
