Phillip Schofield makes savage dig at Gino D'Acampo as chef announces This Morning break

Phillip Schofield made a savage dig at Gino D'Acampo as he announced his break from This Morning.

The TV presenter couldn't help but make a cheeky remark at the TV chef as Gino confirmed he wouldn't be on the show for a number of months, as he is heading back to Italy with his family.

Whilst he admitted he was sad to be going, Gino promised he'd find a way to make an appearance on the show soon - even if it had to be remotely for the time being - but Phil joked about being happy that he'd be taking a break.

As he appeared on the show today, Gino admitted to Phil and his co-host Holly Willoughby : "I'm a little bit sad today because I’m going to go to Italy very soon in the next few days. This is my last This Morning. Until probably autumn, winter."

"Thank God for that," Phil joked under his breath, making Holly laugh too.

Gino just carried on with the chat, and suggested ways he could still get involved. He added: "Unless you guys are going to come to the island of Sardinia, we may do something live there, maybe we can do something down the line."

"Do not panic because I have got so many beautiful things for you guys," he said as he addressed fans directly.

Phil found his dig very funny (ITV)

In a recent appearance on the show, Phil and Holly looked shock as Gino discussed his bedroom activities with them.

"I'm gonna be very honest with you Debbie, I wouldn't really bother to spend a hell of a lot of time in the kitchen because I know that's not what Jessica would want," Gino explained.

"I probably would cook something really quickly because the rest of the time would just be bedroom activities."

Advising a caller, he then added: "Debbie, you're 60 today, go in the bedroom and do what you want! Enjoy yourself!"

Gino seemed less impressed (ITV)

Mother-of-three Holly and her co-host Phil clearly weren't expecting Gino's answer and looked pretty stunned. He also advised another viewer to have a threesome to spice up their relationship.

"While I’m very, very happily married, sometimes, Gino, you just need that little bit of extra spice, and I thought with you being an international love god and a world famous chef, I cannot wait to hear your fabulous tips," the caller said.

The chef replied: "You want a bit of spice in your life? I’m going to tread very carefully here. I think what you should do if you want to put spice in your marriage, is to try something that you haven’t tried before. So, if you want to break down some boundaries within the limit of what you think your husband will accept - an example: try to have a threesome."
