This Morning host Phillip Schofield addressed viewer backlash aimed at the show, as Tuesday saw a change to the latest game of Spin to Win.
The daily game sees a lucky viewer called up and then they must give the correct code word in order to play, with the option of spinning the wheel or the balls.
With the wheel, whatever it lands on is the money prize awarded to them - often ranging from £750 to £3000, while there are sometimes other prizes to be won.
The wheel had undergone another makeover with new prizes, after the show was called out on Monday over the decision to give viewers the opportunity to have their energy bills paid for, for four months.
Phillip left co-host Holly Willoughby laughing as he made a jibe at the complaints in the latest episode.
The ' energy bills ' prize had been ditched, and instead Phillip claimed his "generous boss" had increased the money on offer, and extended the prize to cover any bills, not just energy.
Some fans were convinced they'd axed the segment as there was no mention of it until the final part of the show.
Instead, after the hosts confirmed they would be calling up a viewer very soon, the wheel included money prizes ranging from £1000 to £3000, as well as the option to win the chance to have household bills paid for.
As the segment was about to start, Phillip quipped: "Everyone's talking about it," in reference to the online backlash.
He then detailed the changes to the wheel, saying: "Well, loads of cash prizes up for grabs. Our boss has been incredibly generous, he's decided to increase the money to include all of your household bills. Mortgage, petrol, food, energy, you decide. We will pay your bills until the end of the year up to the value of £3000."
As the latest competitor won £3,000, the hosts celebrated before Phillip mocked: "I wonder how much of that they can complain about online."
It followed divided comments from fans, with many slamming the "tone-deaf" addition to the competition.
Monday's change to the wheel sparked backlash and divided viewers, as hosts Phillip and Holly announced the lucky viewer would get the chance to have their energy bills paid for.
In fact the caller chosen that day did land on this, as they explained to Holly and Phil about their own bill worries and discussed their pre-paid meter.
The moment sparked divided comments on Twitter, with many calling the decision "tone-deaf" as others defended the show and hosts.
One outraged viewer said: "I mean this is just bloody tone deaf by #thismorning,"
Another agreed: "Trivialising energy when thousands are worried about it - is so tone deaf."
A third remarked: "I don’t watch @thismorning but seeing that they have a spin wheel where you can win your energy bills being paid. I’m sure it’s meant in good humour but feel it’s making a mockery of the seriousness of the situation a lot of worried people are in!"
Meanwhile one viewer disagreed, saying: "Seriously don’t understand the backlash that at @thismorning @Schofe @hollywills are getting for putting energy bills as a winning item on spin the wheel yesterday! I for one one would be very happy to win this!"
A second backed this saying: " ITV in the Morning often do comps and there have been many many before where the winner gets their bills paid so I don't see why this was any different. ITV has run one before where the winner has had their car, rent, mortgage all paid."
Phil had said during Monday's show: "This week we've got our usual cash prizes, but you could also win some extra cash to pay your energy bills until the end of the year. That's four months of energy bills taken care of."
Holly then added: "Wow, that's very important right now."
The caller playing Spin to Win told them: "I've got one of these prepayment meters and it's absolutely murder."
As the wheel stopped on energy bills, the viewer added: "Oh my God! Thank you! Fantastic, what a relief, thank you very much!"
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
