Phillip Schofield has defended the working culture at This Morning in a new statement issued on Instagram.
The 61-year-old has quit ITV after confessing to an affair with a much younger staffer on ITV. The admission sparked speculation about ITV's knowledge of the relationship, as well as the atmosphere on set
Phillip told his followers on Instagram that ITV remained "the best show" to work on insisted there was no toxicity on set. He hit out at the recent criticism surrounding the show in his brief statement.

Phillip wrote: "Now I no longer work on This Morning I am free to say this. I hope you have noticed that it's the same handful of people with a grudge against me or the show who seem to have the loudest voice."
He added: "You can listen to those persistently loud voices if you like. But the thousands of guests over the years, thousands of staff and crew, hundreds of presenters and contributors all know, it is a family of wonderful, talented, kind, hard working people."
The statement follows claims from former This Morning staff about the working environment while on the show. Eamonn Holmes, who departed from his role as a presenter on the show in 2021, has heaped criticism at both Phillip and his former co-host Holly Willoughby in recent weeks.
Eamonn described Phillip's statement earlier today as "delusional" on Twitter. The GB News presenter questioned the intent of putting a statement up on an Instagram story, which is only accessible for 24 hours.
He said: "Schofield has just put out a delusional statement. Like Holly he puts it on Insta stories so if it goes wrong there is no record after 24 hours."
Holly issued a statement on Instagram this weekend, saying Phillip had previously denied the true nature of his relationship with a younger member of staff at ITV. She is currently on leave from the show but is expected to return to This Morning without Phillip on June 5.
