Phillip Schofield gushes over 'amazing women' Alison Hammond and Josie Gibson as they step in for best pal Holly

This Morning has been swapping its hosting line-up like its going out of fashion of late due to Covid-related and other absences.

In the last week, Phillip Schofield has been joined on the popular ITV daytime show by Josie Gibson and Alison Hammond as Holly Willoughby was forced into isolation after testing positive for coronavirus.

The TV star, 41, also had to pull out of Dancing On Ice at the eleventh hour on March 13 as the skating competition reached the semi-final stage, leaving Phillip to host solo due to the short notice.

Phil, 59, has been sure to keep viewers updated on Holly's absence and said on Monday's This Morning (March 21) that his usual; co-host was "absolutely fine" but that "she just has that incredibly persistent and annoying red line that won't go away," referring to that on a Lateral Flow Test.

He then added that Holly would be "going crazy" at home as she enjoyed the show from the comfort of her own sofa instead of sitting on the famous This Morning one.

And despite his best pal being missing for more than a week, Phillip has been happy enough and shared his thanks to Josie and Alison for both standing in, branding them 'amazing women'.

Taking to Instagram, the TV presenter shared a picture of himself and Alison which was taken in the This Morning studio last Thursday as the show joined in with the St Patrick's Day celebrations.

Stood smiling for the camera with a pint of Guinness in hand, Phillip wrote to his millions of followers: " If it can’t be @hollywilloughby I’m very lucky to have such amazing women to work with, thanks Ali."

Not to leave one of his new sidekicks out, he then posted a photo of himself on Josie enjoying a giggle on the sofa, commenting: " And thank you @josiegibson85."

Each post has racked up thousands of likes as This Morning viewers get used to different hosting duos taking on the show's main role.
