Phillip Schofield beams as he attends Pride with This Morning pal Alison Hammond

Phillip Schofield had a smile a mile wide when he popped up at Pride with his This Morning colleague, Alison Hammond today.

More than a million people are expected to descend on the capital for the celebration in London and the This Morning host, 60, looked like he was ready to get the partied started.

Posing next to Alison, 47, who was sporting a rainbow hued dress and sparkly slacks, Phil cut a casual figure in jeans and white t.shirt as he told fans he was having "a day with the legend that is @AlisonHammond."

He then shared a pic of him and Loose Women, Judi Love, Charlene White and Linda Robson.

In the last shot, the excited presenter was surrounded by a slew of ITV crew and stars, including Scottish host Lorraine Kelly.

Pride has a special place in Phil's heart after the Oldham-born star bravely came out as gay in 2020.

Deciding to announce the news on Instagram before explaining the situation on This Morning, the father-of-two made the emotional announcement with the full support of wife Stephanie and their two daughters Molly and Ruby.

Taking to the social media platform, he posted: "You never know what's going on in someone's seemingly perfect life, what issues they are struggling with, or the state of their wellbeing - and so you won't know what has been consuming me for the last few years," he wrote.

"With the strength and support of my wife and my daughters, I have been coming to terms with the fact that I am gay.

"My inner conflict contrasts with an outside world that has changed so very much for the better.

"Today, quite rightly, being gay is a reason to celebrate and be proud."

The presenter was praised for his bravery with many congratulating the star for his honest admission.

He recently supported Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes, who came out before telling her story on This Morning.

Explaining how hard it was to make the decision to speak about her sexuality, she admitted she'd had some 'really dark times'.

However Phil, who was in tears on the sofa, comforted the star, saying "It's not that long ago that I sat over there in that exact same place.

"And we said, as we gave you a hug when you walked in this morning, 'One day, we won’t have to do these interviews. One day it won't matter. One day you will just be able to be you and get on with your life'."
