Phillip Schofield has been keeping watch over his mum after she was taken to hospital seriously ill. The presenter is said to have kept a vigil by his mum's bed as she was in hospital over the weekend.
The Mail reports that she has now been discharged from hospital and is back at home in Cornwall. Phillip, who was pictured in Cornwall with his mum last week, is said to be looking after his 87-year-old mum.
The former This Morning presenter is said to be planning to stay in Newquay while she recovers.
A source told MailOnline: "It's a relief for everyone that Pat is home, it has been a terribly torrid time for her. She has been under so much stress lately.
"It is a lot for anyone, let alone someone of her age. Phillip is playing the dutiful son and is planning to spend time in Cornwall caring for her."
As well as her son Phillip losing all his TV presenting roles after having an affair with a younger colleague and lying about it, her son Timothy has been jailed for child sex offences.
An insider told The Sun: “Given that his mother was the woman Phillip turned to in his hour of need, her illness is a particularly cruel twist of fate.
“He adores his mother and the whole family is trying to remain hopeful and keep faith that Pat will make a full recovery.”
