Phillip Schofield announces huge ITV Dancing on Ice twist for next week

Phillip Schofield made a huge announcement ahead of next week's Dancing on Ice.

This evening's episode of the ITV show saw six remaining celebrities battle it out on the ice for a place in the semi-finals. Nile Wilson, Joey Essex, Carley Stenson, Mollie Gallagher, The Vivienne, and Siva Kaneswaran were all left in the competition as they each took on the task of incorporating a selected prop into their dances.

In the middle of the show, host Phil delivered some daunting news to them. He warned that next week would see not one, but two, couples heading home.

The 60-year-old presenter said: "We've got some big news about the semi-finals. I can reveal that next week there will be a double elimination. Not one, but two couples will be leaving the competition."

Joey Essex stood with his mouth dropping to the floor in shock as Phil added: "That's the first time they've heard that... Your face! Has it shocked you?"

Joey said: "Yes!" The host replied: "I can tell. Our couples really want to steer clear of that double elimination."

It was also revealed that skaters will be taking to the ice twice each in next week's show. The first time will be alongside their professional partners while the second will be a solo skate.
