Phillip Schofield has addressed his This Morning absence as fans were left wondering where the host was. It comes after the daytime presenter took to Instagram to say he is feeling 'sad'.
The This Morning star has not hosted the popular show for nearly a month. Phillip and his co-host Holly Willoughby have appeared on screens in a number of pre-recorded shows.
Manchester Evening News reports the pair said their goodbyes to viewers in mid-December. They have since been replaced by Alison Hammond, Dermot O'Leary, Josie Gibson, Craig Doyle and Andi Peters.

Last week, further pre-recorded shows aired which Holly and Phillip filmed while their usual live two-and-a-half-hour show was off air during the World Cup in November. But, with the new year underway, This Morning fans expected to see Holly and Phillip back at the helm of the popular programme this week.
However, they were greeted by Andi Peters who said: "Hello and welcome to your Tuesday's This Morning." Josie Gibson added: "But this isn't any old This Morning, this is your first of 2023!"
The pair then excitedly cracked on with the show. It included Clodagh McKenna whipping up an immune-boosting soup in the kitchen, Lynsey Crombie sharing her top tips for getting your house clean for 2023 and a chat with Strictly star Giovanni Pernice ahead of his latest tour.
And as This Morning viewers tweeted about Holly and Phillip's whereabouts, Phillip took to Instagram with a snap of himself. The Dancing On Ice host posted a selfie from Denmark as he said: "Sad to leave Copenhagen. No question, the friendliest city I’ve ever visited."
It comes after Phillip partied in the city on New Year's Eve as he gave fans an insight into his celebrations. The Oldham-born star grinned in a gold masquerade mask with a smart suit after heading out to see in the new year.
And Phillip made his feelings clear about waving goodbye to 2022 as he told fans he was partying to make sure the year has 'b******d off'. "Before it all happens..."he typed alongside the smiley photo on his Instagram. "Just to say I'm partying, not only to welcome in the new year, but to be absolutely sure 2022 has b******d off!!!"
Phillip also shared a photo of his table at the celebrations covered in glitter. "I HATE glitter but there is no doubt by the end of the night I'm going to rub this on my face," he wrote. The TV personality Instagrammed a picture of the new year fireworks saying: "Happy New Year from Copenhagen!! Nothing about this is organised... Just folk letting s*** off in the street!"
