Phillip and Holly's Dancing on Ice future 'doubtful' as new hosts tipped to take over

The chances of Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby hosting Dancing on Ice together next year have been called into question, following his controversial exit from Thus Morning and rumours of a 'feud' between the pair. And potential replacements for the high profile TV gig have already been mooted.

Over the last few weeks, the two presenters have been hit by talk of a falling out behind the scenes, with their previously close friendship hitting the skids, despite Phillip's claims that Holly had been his 'rock' and that he'd been there for her through tough times.

As speculation continued to mount, bookies tipped Phillip to exit This Morning by the end of last week and they proved to be bang on, as he posted a statement on Instagram on Saturday afternoon to announce that he was leaving the job he'd held down for over 20 years.

He said he hoped the show would go onto 'a bright future' as Holly promptly issued her own response, saying she was thankful for Phillip's humour and knowledge' and that the This Morning sofa 'would never been the same.'

Despite seeming upset at Holly's departure, there have been reports that she'd issued an ultimatum to ITV bosses, which is why the prospect of them ever hosting Dancing on Ice again as a duo seems more and more unlikely.

And bookies have already opened the book on potential replacements. Stephen Mulhern, who stood in for Phillip on the show earlier this year, is the top tip for next male host on 4/5, ahead of Dermot O'Leary on 2/1 and Rylan Clark on 3/1.

If Holly should quit, Rochelle Humes is the 4/5 favourite to replace her, ahead of Britain's Got Talent judge and recent Eurovision host, Alesha Dixon, on 2/1,
