Nick Castellanos is on fire for the Phillies, and he carried his hot bat into the NLCS during Game 1 against the Diamondbacks. After launching two home runs in each of his past two games, the 31-year-old added yet another to his tally during the second inning on Monday.
Castellanos extended Philadelphia’s lead to 3–0 with a 362-foot bomb off Zac Gallen. In doing so, he became the first player since Reggie Jackson to hit five home runs in a three-game span during the MLB postseason, according to Sarah Langs of MLB.com.

Jackson, of course, hit five home runs during a three-game span in the 1977 World Series, earning himself the renowned moniker, “Mr. October.”
Castellanos joined him in MLB postseason history with his accomplishment Monday night.
In his three games prior to Game 1 against Arizona, the outfielder had recorded seven hits, including four home runs, all of which were solo shots. His second-inning bomb on Monday was also a solo home run.
Before the ‘23 postseason, Castellanos had only ever hit one playoff home run. He’s now hit five in just 12 at-bats during his scorching hot run.
