Phill and Fiz's plush ITV Corrie wedding venue where Catherine Tyldesley also tied the knot in real life

The big day finally arrived for Coronation Street couple Fiz Stape and Phill Whittaker as they finally said 'I do' and it was a catalogue of disasters. Their upcoming nuptials - dubbed the 'shortest in Corrie history' by stunned fans - were thrown into chaos by the arrival of Phill's snooty ex wife Camilla.

Then Fiz's daughter Hope threw a spanner in the works by cancelling the registrar and chucking red wine over the bridesmaids dresses. But the wedding got back on track and Fiz and Phill managed to say 'I do' in Friday night's hilarious and tear-jerking episode despite interruption from Evelyn's spilled mint imperials.

However it was Fiz's feelings for her ex Tyrone Dobbs that eventually ruined the big day and she dumped her new husband at their wedding reception before heading over to 9 Coronation Street to smooch Tyrone still in her wedding dress. The day itself may have been ruined but the venue for the ceremony in the ITV soap was stunning.

Filmed last month, the wedding took place at Colshaw Hall in Over Peover near Knutsford, Cheshire. Cast members were spotted filming on-location for the ceremony including Jennie McAlpine as bride Fiz, looking gorgeous in a chic off-the-shoulder white dress, Jamie Kenna who plays Phill in a dapper grey suit and Maria Connor actress Samia Longchambon who wore a purple dress with thigh-high split and ruffled neckline as chief bridesmaid.

Former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley chose Colshaw Hall for her wedding in real life in 2016. The Eva Price actress married photographer Tom Pitfield in a fairytale ceremony, walking down the aisle in a stunning lace creation with cut-out sections by designer to the stars Philip Armstrong, before changing into the Mark Melia dress for the reception.

The ceremony was held at Colshaw Hall (ITV)

Catherine was serenaded on her wedding day by her co-star Shayne Ward, who played the late factory boss Aidan Connor. The former X Factor winner sang Butterfly Kisses by American singer Bob Carlisle for Catherine and her new husband.

Coronation Street stars at the ceremony included Jennie and Samia, Jane Danson who plays Leanne Battersby, Jack P Shepherd who plays David Platt, Brooke Vincent who plays Sophie Webster and Ryan Thomas who played Eva’s ex Jason Grimshaw. And Antony Cotton, who plays Sean Tully, was a bridesman.

Actress Jennie previously revealed how filming Fiz's wedding scenes wasn't exactly her favourite after she married her man Chris Farr at Trafford Town Hall, with only their two-year-old son Albert and two witnesses present at the ceremony.

"I've not loved it," she told the Manchester Evening News and other press. "You're talking to someone who in real life just went off and eloped. All that fuss and all that messing about."

But she added with a laugh: "It was nice... for all of ten minutes. The girls (Hope and Ruby - played by Isabella Flanagan and Macy Alabi) looked lovely. It was a posh do. I'll tell you what was lovely, me aside, this was the first big thing that the crew had been able to work on. We went on location, even during Fiz and Phill's house stuff, so this has been, after all that messing about in lockdown with two-meter distances and having just two characters in a scene, great."
