Philippe Clement has admitted Ianis Hagi's sending off was a clear red card.
The Rangers boss was disappointed to see Hagi's return after 14 months out of the first-team end in a dismissal after a "clumsy challenge".
Hagi had received a rousing reception as he was subbed on at half time and then set up Vaclav Cerny's second strike for Rangers against St Johnstone.
However, after a VAR review, Hagi was sent off for a rash challenge on Benjamin Kimpioka.
Discussing the red card after the match, Clement said: "It is what it is. It is also not a violent one or with high intensity, it was more a clumsy one, unlucky one.
"But it is a clear red card when I saw it afterwards so I don't think it will be a big suspension.
"Now he will go with the national team and I hope he gets minutes there and then when he comes back that we can have good training."

He is not eligible to feature for Rangers in the Europa League having not been included in the squad for the competition.
On Hagi's red, Rangers captain James Tavernier added: "It's disappointing to see Ianis getting sent off after coming back but you saw the reception that he got today from the fans. That's great to see."
