Phil Thompson is feeling less than optimistic about Liverpool’s chances of catching Premier League leaders Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s side enjoy a nine-point advantage over the Reds after winning an 20 out of 25 top-flight matches so far this season.
However, Liverpool do have a game in hand and will play City at the Etihad on April 9.
But Thompson is concerned by the ruthless consistency that the defending champions have displayed.

And while the Reds legend feels his old club are capable of winning all of their remaining fixtures, he fears that City are the more likely to do so.
“Manchester City can win every football match, they are that good,” Thompson told Off The Ball .
“If they keep their best players fit, they can win every football match.
“My Liverpool team, fantastic team, we can win all our games, but you do have that little bit of a doubt.
“You go, 'Manchester City can easily do that', and there is something about my team which is just slightly different. We can maybe have that sort of one slip-up, where you do not feel like Manchester City can.
“They are in that flow at the moment and it is not just the team, it goes through individuals.”
