DC United manager Wayne Rooney had to deal with an alleged racism incident during his side's loss to former team-mate Phil Neville's Inter Miami.
Jamaican international Damion Lowe was the subject of an alleged racial slur by DC United's Taxi Fountas, who has substituted immediately by the former Everton and Manchester United star.
Rooney held talks with Inter Miami boss Neville on the touchline and made the decision to haul his star man off with allegations of racism being made against Fountas.

MEDIA REACTION: 'Another significant moment'
Neville was prepared to walk his players off the pitch and "make a stand" if nothing was done about the alleged racism against his defender: "I would have given up the result to make a stand."
The ex-Everton captain spoke highly of Rooney after the incident: "I’ve always known him as a class act, and [Sunday] in my estimation he did more than any goal he’s ever scored” after he took Fountas out of the game.
“We need to address an issue that maybe in the past was swept under the carpet, but we’re a club that is proud of our diversity and inclusion in our staff and supporters, and there is no place at all for racism on a football field or society."
Rooney was questioned about the situation, but the DC United boss wasn't giving much away with his answer.
"There was a complaint, which I’m sure will get investigated. Not much more I can say.”
