Phil Mickelson has been heavily praised for his commentary skills by LIV Golf commentator Arlo White. The American was one of the most marquee names to join the Saudi-backed series earlier this year.
Despite this, the six-time major champion has failed to live up to his name on the golf course, breaking the top 10 just once after an eighth place finish in Chicago in September. Mickelson's struggles also continued in the breakaway circuit's team championship last weekend.
As a result the American star and his Hy Flyers teammates were eliminated on day one of the season finale knockout in Miami on Friday following defeat to Cameron Smith's Punch GC.
With Mickelson out of action for day two and three, the 52-year-old made the move into the commentary box for the weekend's action, and it is more than fair to say he impressed. Commentator White, who covered the Premier League for NBC Sports prior to a move to LIV lauded Mickelson's commentary efforts.
Taking to Twitter, White wrote: "Half an hour on air with @PhilMickelson was as good as I’ve experienced in sports broadcasting. Golf nuts and aspiring broadcasters alike, go back and watch/listen."
White was not the only one singing the praises of the six-time major champion, with fans who listened in also impressed with Mickelson's work with the microphone. Taking to Twitter, one golf fan - @Feralgolfer - wrote: "Loved it. Knowledge of a person with decades experience, enthusiasm of a kid just discovering the glory of the game."
These thoughts were echoed by @sekrah, who tweeted: "Phil Mickelson is on commentary for the finals and it's absolutely delicious." As Mickelson watched it was his former Ryder Cup teammate Dustin Johnson and his 4Aces team who were crowned team champions.

Johnson and teammates Talor Gooch, Patrick Reed and Pat Perez carried on the form that saw them dominate the Saudi-backed series throughout the campaign to take home the £14 million prize on Sunday. Victory ensured Johnson secured the double, being crowned both LIV's individual 2022 champion.
The two-time major champion has no doubt made the most of signing on the dotted line with the Saudi-funded series. His team's triumph last weekend ensured his LIV earnings grew to £30.7 million across just eight events.
