Manchester United defender Phil Jones has thanked the club for sticking by him throughout his injury troubles.
Jones' time at Old Trafford has been plagued by injury but he managed to return at centre-back for the Reds towards the end of last season. His most recent appearance for United came as a substitute in a 3-0 victory over Brentford in May 2022.
The 31-year-old has not featured since and has continued to struggle with injuries. Jones has yet to play for United under Erik ten Hag but is in attendance at Wembley Stadium ahead of the Carabao Cup final.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Jones thanked the Reds for sticking by him and set out his hopes of a return to football. He explained: "I am good, it has been a long road, there is no hiding away from that.
"At times, physically and mentally, it has been exhausting but I am a fighter, a strong character and I will do everything I can to get back out on the pitch. I want to be playing football, it is something that I love doing, so that is my aim.
"I have had to deal with that [the mental challenges] and I think I have. I have had a good support around me, my family, friends and especially the club. The club have been absolutely fantastic with me, I can't thank them enough and I am grateful for that.
"I am a strong character and I want to be back out there." When asked about what the culture is like at United at present, Jones was full of praise.
He added: "I think they are in a great place at the minute. The manager has come in and galvanised this team.
"There is a real sense of belief about the place now that they are going places and they can win things and it starts today. This club is based off success but it comes with trophies, that is the DNA of the club and hopefully they can get over the line today."
