Phil Foden delivers honest verdict on Mikel Arteta and makes Arsenal admission

Manchester City star Phil Foden has heaped praise on Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.

Arteta worked with Foden during his time as Pep Guardiola's assistant coach at the Etihad Stadium before eventually joining the Gunners back in December 2019. And the England international has made it no secret of his admiration for the young manager.

Speaking about the Spaniard to Amazon Prime's YouTube channel, he said: “Unbelievable, you know. I remember working with him closely after training on some things I needed to improve. I know how good he can be as a coach. He’s definitely a great coach.”

When asked if he would watch Arsenal's All or Nothing documentary, Foden replied: “I’d be interested. When they did it on us (City), it was so good to watch, so I definitely think I will have a watch of that and see what it’s like for them and see what’s difference for us and them.”

Arteta's side have enjoyed a perfect start to the 2022/23 campaign, winning all of their opening three Premier League fixtures, defeating Crystal Palace, Leicester City and most recently, Bournemouth.

Next up for the Gunners is newly-promoted Fulham at the Emirates Stadium, by no means an easy task given Marco Silva's men also remain undefeated this term, while Wednesday night's Carabao Cup third round draw sees them host Brighton in November.
