Phil Foden agrees with Jack Grealish about Erling Haaland potential at Man City

Phil Foden has opened up on his first experiences training with Erling Haaland, after missing Manchester City's pre-season tour, predicting that the new number nine will be hard to stop this season.

Foden was absent from City's two friendlies in the US as he didn't meet the country's entry requirements, but has been training with the team since they returned, as has Haaland. The pair could both feature in the Community Shield against Liverpool on Saturday at Leicester's King Power Stadium.

And Foden lifted the lid on his early impressions of Haaland, agreeing with Jack Grealish's assessment last week that the number nine will be 'unstoppable' when he reaches full fitness.

"He's a top guy off the pitch, a great character. You see with his singing and things," Foden told Sky Sports of Haaland.

"He's a great addition to the team, makes everyone laugh and is dead humble which is important when you come to a team that you know what everyone wants. He's hungry to achieve things with us which can only mean good things."

It seems Haaland and Grealish have already struck up a good relationship on and off the pitch, but Foden insists that's a good thing and there's no jealousy from his end - agreeing with Grealish that Haaland could be unstoppable for City this season.

"There's no jealousy!" he said. "All the lads get on, it definitely helps when the team is so connected you give everything for each other on the pitch, we all have each other's back.

"Definitely [Haaland can be unstoppable]. In front of goal he's scary, everyone knows his goal record. He's coming to a complete different league [with] much faster football, so it might take him a little [time] to get used to, but I'm sure when he's in his flow he's going to be unstoppable.

"[Sergio] Aguero is very similar, Haaland's got all different types of finishes, he's scary in front of goal. If we can get him the ball in the right areas he is gonna be really important for us this year."
