'Phenomenal talent' - Liverpool fans rave about Ben Doak as teenager scores on Scotland U21 debut

Ben Doak became Scotland under-21s youngest-ever goalscorer this evening when he scored on his debut in the 3-1 win against Northern Ireland.

The Liverpool teenager joined from Celtic for around £600,000 earlier this year, and has garnered plenty of excitement around the red half of Merseyside.

He came on just after the half-hour mark in Belfast earlier this evening and got off to a dream start, racing through on goal and sliding home to make it 2-0 just seven minutes after making his entrance.

At just 16 years, 10 months and 11 days old, he looks to have become the youngest player to score for Scotland under-21s, and the second youngest to feature for that age group.

And Doak's dream international bow had Liverpool fans raving on social media as they got another glimpse into the talent the Reds have on their hands.

Doak has enjoyed a dream start to life at Liverpool, netting twice in his under-18 debut against Middlesbrough in August before scoring again on his first UEFA Youth League outing against Napoli earlier this month.

The teenager will be hoping to start in the reverse fixture, when Scotland host Northern Ireland on Sunday.
