A Tredegar-based pharmaceutical firm is creating up to 40 new jobs as part of multi-million pound expansion plans as it looks to meet market demand.
PCI Pharma Services, which provides drug development and manufacturing services for the pharmaceutical industry, plans to open two new facilities as part of expansion plans at its site in Tafarnaubach Industrial Estate, in Blaenau Gwent.
The expansion is expected to create up to 40 new jobs in the first year, with potential to increase its workforce going forward as the facilities scale up to allow the business to enhance its drug manufacturing operations.

PCI Pharma plans to recruit the majority of the new staff locally.
The firm currently employs 500 people in Tredegar, but this increases to over 900 employees to include its sites in Bridgend and Hay-on-Wye.
The firm also has 30 sites across seven countries - Australia, Canada, USA, Ireland, Germany, Spain and Wales - and more than 4,300 employees across the business.
In 2020, the firm had its plans for a £9m expansion creating up to 100 new jobs approved by Blaenau Gwent Council’s planning committee.

“The expansion of the Tredegar site provides us with another opportunity to recruit locally which we hope will have an additional benefit to other businesses and the wider community.
