Newly released body cam footage has revealed a recent incident involving golfer Scotty Scheffler, who was captured on camera expressing his apologies to police officers during his arrest outside a PGA Championship event in Louisville, Kentucky.
In the footage, Scheffler can be heard saying, 'So I'm terribly sorry. Keep your hand back here. I'm just trying to get to my tee time. I'm shaking. Guys, I'll keep my arms back there, I promise. I'm about to get arrested, I'm trying to get to a tee time.'
It was reported that Scheffler was en route to the golf course when he encountered the aftermath of a fatal crash. An officer attempted to approach Scheffler's vehicle, leading to a situation where the officer was inadvertently dragged along by the car. Notably, the officer did not have his body camera activated during this particular interaction.
Following the incident, charges against Scheffler were ultimately dropped after authorities determined that the situation was a result of a misunderstanding. The body cam footage shed light on the sequence of events that transpired during the encounter between Scheffler and law enforcement.
