PGA Championship tee times 2022 as Rory McIlroy is included in standout group

The group set to attract the large majority of the crowd at Southern Hills is undoubtedly the star trio of Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth.

Each of them has their own compelling story ahead of this year's USPGA Championship.

McIlroy seems to be trending towards ending his eight-year major drought after a scintillating final round 64 at the Masters to finish in second place.

Since then a fifth place finish at the Wells Fargo Championship has seemingly primed the Holywood man for a run at collecting his third Wanamaker Trophy.

McIlroy will be joined by a man last seen in competitive action at the Masters, Tiger Woods. The 46-year-old defied the expectations of many to make the cut at Augusta, and, as is always said of the 15-time major winner, he won't be here to make up the numbers.

The three-ball is completed by Jordan Spieth, who is looking to complete a career grand slam of the major.

The American couldn't be better form either. After winning the RBC Heritage Title, he finished second behind KH Lee in last week's AT&T Byron Nelson Championship.

In equally good form is Offaly man Shane Lowry. The former Open champion has seemingly been in contention every time he has teed it up of late.

After a three-week break he goes out in a star-studded group alongside two-time USPGA winner Brooks Koepka and former Masters champion Adam Scott.
