PFN ranks Giants OT Andrew Thomas 20th in NFL

Andrew Thomas was recently ranked as the 20th best offensive tackle in the NFL by Pro Football Network.

Thomas has had a very volatile career thus far. He started his career as one of the worst tackles during his 2020 rookie season. He received a Pro Football Focus grade of 62.4 and a pass-blocking grade of 54.7, and was a clear liability on offense as he allowed 57 pressures (14 more than anyone in the NFL) and 10 sacks (a league-high).

Things were looking grim for the fourth overall pick from Georgia until the 2021 season rolled around. Thomas left everything from the past behind him and played like the player he was drafted to be. He earned a PFF grade of 78.9 with a pass-blocking grade of 82.1. Thomas also reduced his allowed pressures to 18 and only was responsible for two sacks.

This drastic improvement has Thomas at the top of many people’s leaderboards when it comes to young offensive linemen. Overall, Pro Football Network ranked him as the 20th best offensive tackle in football and this number will likely only improve as the Giants sure up their offensive line.

The Giants have added a lot of veteran players to help sure up the middle of the offensive line. Big Blue has also given Thomas a partner in crime out of seventh overall pick Evan Neal.

As the Giants continue to improve this group they will hopefully stand to improve on the win-loss column where they have struggled for some time now.
