It was a difficult first half for defensive end Myles Garrett and the Cleveland Browns defense on Sunday against the New York Giants. The team was able to find their footing in Week 2 with an excellent performance and was sure to continue this momentum into Week 3. Instead, Giants quarterback Daniel Jones and rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers was a duo the Browns defense had no answer for.
These PFF grades help tell us who might’ve had the biggest impact on the team and what needs to improve the most. The majority of Cleveland’s PFF grades tell the story that we saw play out in this ugly Week 3 result. Despite the loss, some individual performances stood out for Cleveland.
Many Browns defenders played to the best of their strengths and had a tremendous game, like Garrett. The star defensive end is one of the many reasons why viewing individual performances is a critical analysis for game-planning and seeing how to improve as a team moving forward. Most of the defenders now find themselves on the wrong end of this PFF report two of the three weeks into the season.
