PFF: Jets’ Quinnen Williams tops DTs for stops in middle

If you’re reading this thinking: “Well, it’s his job,” we have good news for you.

According to Pro Football Focus, New York Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams sits in an elite company for his position over the past two seasons.

Per the football analytics outlet, only the Washington Commanders’ Daron Payne, who attended Alabama at the same time as Williams, has recorded 35 or more defensive stops from the middle of the D-line in each of the last two years:

Still young at only 24, Williams has been a good pro thus far since being selected third-overall by New York in 2019. The Jets would likely still think he has room for a bit more growth, but Williams hasn’t been anything close to bad or disappointing.

In 41 career games, Williams has notched 15.5 sacks and 21 tackles for loss throughout his three-year career.
