PFF grades: Colts highest graded players on offense vs Titans

Although the game ended up much closer than it probably should have, the Indianapolis Colts beat the Tennessee Titans in Week 16 to keep their playoff hopes alive.

So now that Pro Football Focus has had the chance to review the tape and hand out grades, which players on offense received the highest marks?

But first, you know the drill, while PFF’s grading system is very helpful at quantifying a player’s performance, it is not the be-all-end-all when it comes to player evaluation. It is one metric out of many that are out there and should be treated as such.

However, generally speaking, if a player performs well, their PFF grade does reflect that.

Here is a look at PFF’s grading system to provide some context behind the numbers:

90.0+: Elite
80-89.9: High quality
70-79.9: Good
60-69.9: Above average
50-59.9: Average
40-49.9: Below average
39.9 or less: Poor

LT Bernhard Raimann

PFF grade: 91.3

An elite performance by Raimann. According to PFF’s charting, 88 of Jonathan Taylor’s rushing yards came from running behind Raimann and Taylor accomplished that 88 yard total on just 12 carries. In pass protection, Raimann also didn’t surrender a pressure.

LG Quenton Nelson

PFF grade: 85.5

This was an excellent game from Nelson. Like Raimann, Taylor found a lot of success running behind him, which included 101 rushing yards on only 12 carries. Nelson also paved the way for Anthony Richardson on his touchdown run and didn’t give up a pressure in pass protection either.

RB Jonathan Taylor

PFF grade: 78.0

If you total 218 rushing rushing yards at over 7.0 yards per rush, you’re going to be among the highest-graded players on the team. There was great vision and great burst from Taylor in this game.

Honorable Mentions

WR Josh Downs: 74.5
WR AD Mitchell: 67.4
TE Mo Alie-Cox: 67.1
