PFF grades: Colts highest-graded players on offense vs Lions

Following the Indianapolis Colts Week 12 loss to the Lions, Pro Football Focus has reviewed the tape and handed out their individual grades.

So which players on offense for the Colts received the highest marks?

Now, as always, my usual disclaimer which is that PFF’s grading system is not the be-all-end-all but it is one metric when it comes to player evaluation, and should be treated as such. But with that said, generally speaking, if a player performs well, their PFF grade reflects that.

Below is a look at PFF’s grading system to provide some context behind the numbers:

90.0+: Elite
80-89.9: High quality
70-79.9: Good
60-69.9: Above average
50-59.9: Average
40-49.9: Below average
39.9 or less: Poor

WR Michael Pittman

PFF grade: 88.6

This was Pittman’s best performance in several weeks. He was targeted seven times, catching six of those passes for 96 yards, which included four of those receptions picking up first downs.

WR Josh Downs

PFF grade: 78.9

Downs didn’t put up the same production numbers that he has over the last month, catching 3-of-6 passes for 27 yards, but each week he continues to play at a consistently high level, and did well against the Lions of picking up YAC on short completions.

QB Anthony Richardson

PFF grade: 76.6

I’m happy to see that PFF recognized Richardson’s performance even though the stat sheet didn’t reflect his level of play. For the second week in a row, Richardson was often throwing on time and within the rhythm of the play. He was again in command of the offense, made good decisions, and was poised, even as he routinely had to make throws with defenders in his lap and penalties wiped out big gains for the offense.

Honorable Mentions

LT Matt Goncavles: 72.9
WR AD Mitchell: 66.5
C Tanor Bortolini: 61.6
