Every top-10 draft pick faces intense pressure, but Atlanta Falcons rookie running back Bijan Robinson was considered a generational talent coming out of Texas.
This raised the expectations to an almost unrealistic level for Robinson despite the team having another 1,000-yard back on the roster in Tyler Allgeier. Robinson has been as good as advertised thus far, although he had a rough outing against Detroit last week.
Buy Falcons TicketsPro Football Focus broke down the rookie’s Week 3 performance and pointed out how the struggles of Atlanta’s passing game could hinder Robinson going forward.
Through the first three games of the season, Robinson has rushed for 213 yards on 5.5 yards per carry. He has yet to reach the end zone as a runner but caught a touchdown pass in Week 1.
Robinson does have the most yards of all rookie running backs. As far as the entire league goes, he’s ranked ninth in total rushing yards. We’ll see if Robinson can bounce back in Week 4 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Check out the team’s updated 53-man roster, practice squad and depth chart heading into Sunday’s game in London.
